Does it matter what faction you choose?
Thanks |

in a word......no
although, if you want to get protector of cantha, you'll need to gain faction for both factions(hope that makes sense) to allow you to progress the storyline |

In some ways, yes.
Are you speaking, though, of which side of the branching storyline (Lux or Kurz) you chose or having your guild ally with one side or the other? On the guild level, if your guild allies with Lux, say, the priest & merch at the shrines in Kurz exploreable areas won't deal with you unless you bribe the priest and the traders in Kurz towns won't either, unless you have more Kurz faction than Lux at that moment. This is how you buy Kurz armor, for example, if you're in a Lux guild. As far as the story goes, not really. You can, in fact, chose to do both sides of the story - Kurz & Lux - in which case you'll need 10K faction points for both sides to follow both branches. If your guild is Lux, say, you still need to have more Lux faction to deal with the traders in the Lux towns - just being in a Lux guild doesn't cut it. Hope this helps. |
